Many communities lack culturally informed mental health services tailored to newcomers. Even when such services exist, barriers like stigma, language access, transportation, and time constraints limit client access. Mainstream mental health services often prioritize severe symptoms and have long waitlists. Psychosocial groups at resettlement offices or community locations can offer valuable support while addressing these barriers. During this webinar, we will hear from experienced group facilitators and explore three different models of psychosocial support groups— looking at the challenges and successes of each.
